St. Louis friends enjoy a couple dozen at Shaw's Crab House in Chicago during Blues Fest. Shaw's is known for their Royster with the oyster in October.
The Broadway Oyster Bar- St. Louis, Mo. The river cities nod to New Orleans, right down by Bush stadium this oyster bar has been the place to go before and after the game for decades. It is also a long-time downtown music venue.
The Lobster Trap- Fresh seafood and oyster bar in Asheville, NC; arguable the best oyster in the southeast featuring 8-12 varieties of oysters daily. Chef Doug Parsons and staff are very knowledgeable about their product. The Lobster Trap is also home of Oyster House Brewing Company. Brewer Billy Klingel crafts his award winning Oyster Stout, along with a wonderful IPA, Pale Ale,Blonde and Brown Ales.
The 42nd Street Oyster Bar - Raleigh, NC- A tradition since 1931, serving a variety of oysters and clams. As they say " Eat seafood...Live longer - Eat oysters....Love longer - Eat Clams...Last longer"
Z's Oyster Bar and Steakhouse-Louisville, KY and Indianapolis, IN- All west coast oyster selections usually 8-12 varieties. Great daily seafood menu and delicious prime steaks. One of my favorite special occasion dinners in the ville.
The Starfish Oyster Bed & Grill- Toronto, Canada- Home to Patrick McMurray, proprietor, and fastest oyster shucker in the world with 33 in one minute. Can not wait to make this one.
Ye Olde Union Oyster House- Boston,MA-America's oldest restaurant and a pretty cool oyster bar. What they lack in variety a have in character. Enjoy a beer, chowder and oysters and clams at the old horse shoe bar where some of our countries forefathers sat and did the same.
Neptune Oyster Bar- Boston,MA- Wonderful little old school bar, great variety on the raw bar with both oysters and clams.
Max's Oyster Bar- Hartford,CT- A little upscale
Summer Shack-Boston, Cambridge, Mohegan Sun Casino in CT, Logan Airport- Classic Jasper White casual. Enjoy a variety of oysters with Olde Salts beer, a proprietary draft from Harpoon. "Food is love" and so are oysters. Enjoy the Summer Shack at the Mohegan Sun Casino on January 30th the check out the 7th annual oyster open shucking competition and the Sun Wine Fest
Nicks Raw Bar- Baltimore, MD- Classic seafood raw bar, no frills no website; Home of the Raw Barbarians.
Old Ebbit Grill- Washington, DC- The oldest restaurant in the capitol city. The Ebbit is a wonderful experience with an oyster happy hour daily. Good variety of shells. The Ebbit is known for the Oyster Riot in November. Two days of awesome oyster consumption and a competition to determine the years best oyster wine.
Union Street Public House- Alexandria, VA- A little more than an oyster bar. The restaurant offers great steaks and chops. Enjoy oysters on the half shell and a wide variety of drafts at the down stairs bar in this historic riverfront city.
Pops Oyster Bar on 12 in Buxton on NC's outer banks is a salty little place to stop in for oysters and clams. No frills here ---not even a flashy website, but a must do drop in on your way to the Hatteras light or Frisco pier.
Pearlz- Charleston, SC- One of my favorites- Nice variety of oysters, including local shells. Also good house crafted beer. A good place to hang at the bar when your in town for the Low Country Oyster festival at Boone Hall Plantation, the last Sunday in January.
Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar- Charleston, SC- Nice big bar, comfortable dinning room. Very cool oyster chandeliers. Solid menu, straight forward raw bar menu oysters and clams.
Hanks- Charleston, SC- A Charleston institution. Old school southern raw bar. The restaurant is know for it's Low Country Bouillabaisse. I highly recommend a bowl after you enjoy a dozen on the half shell.
Dusty's Oyster Bar- Panama City, FL- Have not been to this one yet but can not wait to hit it this winter. Met the crew from this place at the National shucking contest in Maryland five years ago and will finally find there this winter. No frills or website, review banter back and forth but as Scotty O's (general manager and 4 time national shucking champion) business card says "Home of warm beer, Lousy food, and ugly waitresses"
Lee and Rick's Oyster Bar- Orlando, FL- This came recommended by Ryan White after we met in an airport bar in Detroit. Thanks for the heads up this place looks awesome. 80 ft. concrete oyster bar that seats 50. Look forward to visiting this one.
Wintzell's Oyster House- Mobile, AL This is the original location; They offer a total of 12 locations, 11 in Alabama and one in Pensecola, FL. "Fried, Stewed and Nude" This is a great oyster house fouinded by Oliver Wintzell in 1938. The walls are filled with quotes of the wisdom of the boss or you can by the book "oysters and politics, Bits of wit and wisdom. The hot sauce is pretty good too.
Felix's Oyster Bar- New Orleans, LA- My favorite oyster bar in the Quarter. Stand at the bar, make your own cocktail and enjoy cold beer. I visit Felix's several times a day when I am in New Orleans. A dozen here a dozen there.

Casamento's Restaurant & Oyster Bar- New Orleans, LA- A great place to eat oysters uptown on Magazine street. Very old school, Gulf oysters only, beer served with 8oz. juice glasses. Closed in months with an R. Which means the owners are smart enough to get the hell out of New Awlins in the summer. Enjoyed a dozen with Pearl on our last trip to Jazz fest. Took a nice bike ride up Magazine
Emmit Watsons Oyster Bar- Can't wait to get out to the west coast and check this one out. Shucking buddy and Schlafly's star shucker Thurman Watson runs this casual joint in the historic Pike Place market. Check out what the yelper's have to say.Everyone digs the menu's printed on brown paper bags.
Elliott's Oyster House- Arguably the best oyster house in Seatle, when it comes to variety and dedication to the oyster. Also home to West Coast oyster shucking champion David Leck.
